			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The University of Kansas Medical Center will sponsor a symposium called <em><a href="http://library.kumc.edu/sciencesymposium/" target=_blank>Mass and Matter: Public Access to Scientific Discovery</a></em> on October 6th. On topic will be current and emerging practices for publishing, delivering and sharing scientific research, data and tools as well as opportunities for making the best use of technologies that integrate and improve access to scientific research. The symposium will take place from 8am to 2pm at the Center, in Kanas City. Registration is $35 and includes breakfast and lunch.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m now in Baltimore, for the SLA conference. Activites for me have already started with a business meeting for the IT Division. I&#8217;ll try to post as much as I can during the conference (hey, Days Inn has free wireless, although weak, in the rooms!).</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget about the <a href="http://sla-divisions.typepad.com/itbloggingsection/2006/03/bloggers_gettog.html" target=new>SLA Bloggers Get-Together</a> on Monday. I look forward to discuss blogging with you.</p>

<li>Robert Olley of the Bronx Zoo Library will give a talk titled “Gnu at the Zoo: Gathering and Disseminating Information in Zoology and Conservation Biology.”</li>
