The Science and Technology Section will be having a dinner at the ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans. Dinner will take place on June 24, 6PM at Tujagues, 823 Decauter St. Costs are $20 for STS members, non-STS $50. There are 60 spots and registration is required before May 26th. ACRL-STS poster session: deadline extended again

It would seem everyone is too busy to submit a poster proposal to the ACRL-STS section for the upcoming conference in New Orleans. The deadline has been extended again, this time, to February 24. I can only encourage you to submit; posters are easier to do than a full blown presentation and a nice way to get some credits for your cv.

ALA-STS Call for papers

The Science and Technology Section of ACRL is now accepting abstracts of research papers to be given at the June 25th STS Forum for Science & Technology Library Research at the ALA annual conference in New Orleans. Presentations should last 30 minutes. Priority will be given to papers that indicate research analyses, either quantitative or qualitative. Deadline is January 8; send your 250-words maximum abstracts and full contact information to Karen Grigg.

ALA Mid Winter – Publishers/Vendors Relations Discussion Group

The Science & Technology Section (ALA-STS), Publishers/Vendors Relations Discussion Group will be hosting a discussion on Best Practices for Electronic Resources. The focus will be the ASEE-ELD’s Punchlist of Best Practices for Electronic Resources. This is the first time that this document will feature in a public forum.

The session will take place Sunday January 22, 10.30 -12:30 at the Crowne Plaza, Riverwalk, Ballroom A.

The Science and Technology Section of ALA will hold a dinner at Midwinter in San Antonio on Sunday night, January the 22nd. La Margarita (at 120 Produce Row) is located in El Mercado–the Market Square, near the corner of Commerce St. and Santa Rosa. Dinner is set to start at 6:00 PM. RSVP to Dave Baca before January 16.
